McDONALD’S LEAGUE TO NURTURE FUTURE STARS

Round two of the McDonald’s Talent Development League is poised to kick off this Saturday across the three zones, following the success of the inaugural round of the competition.
Sunil Kumar, the Fiji FA Head of Talent Development, expressed satisfaction with the outcome of the first round despite facing adverse weather conditions.
He credited the smooth running of the competition to the collective efforts of coaches, players, technical staff, and other stakeholders. The league encompasses nine districts, with each zone comprising three district teams across age categories U9, U11, U13, and U15.
Kumar emphasized that the primary objective of the league is to provide opportunities for all participants to engage in football. True to its name, the McDonald’s Talent Development League serves as a platform for identifying and nurturing future football stars in Fiji.
The league operates under the ethos encapsulated by its slogan: “Find the Talent, Train the Talent, Play the Talent.”
Kumar extended gratitude to the coaches, teachers, school leaders, parents, and fans for their unwavering support and contributions toward nurturing the talent pool.
Their involvement plays a crucial role in fostering the growth and development of young footballers, ensuring a bright future for the sport in Fiji.
