League to start

There’s no room for a slow start in the 2020 Vodafone Premier League which kicks off this weekend.

Eight teams are vying for the league title and the two spots in next year’s OFC Champions League.

2019 Pillay Garments Champion vs Champion winners Labasa will meet Babs Khan coached Suva side in the opening match on Saturday February 1 at Subrail Park in Labasa at 1.30pm.

Newcomers Navua will host Nadi at Uprising Artificial turf in Pacific Harbour while Rewa will host Ba at Ratu Cakobau Park. Lautoka will face off Nasinu at Churchill Park in Lautoka.

All the matches will be played on Sunday at 3pm.

“The team’s looking forward to it; everything’s going well, and the preparation’s been good,” Fiji FA competitions manager Amitesh Pal said.

“We know all the teams want to win and will be prepared well.”
