League: Parents praise Fiji FA

Parents praised the Fiji Football Association for the start of McDonald’s Youth Development League for kids.

Ashwin Atish, who brought his son to the Suva Center said Fiji FA was moving in the right direction.

“This is the way forward to develop our kids and this program will really help in the development of football in Fiji,” he said

“We could see the passion some kids have and they really love playing football,”

Atlesh Kumar who has his son in the Rewa center said the age category competition would boost football in Fiji.

“A big thank you to Fiji FA for the initiative in setting up these competitions for our kids and they really enjoy training and playing,” said Kumar

“Fiji FA is creating a pathway for our kids which will also help them develop mentally and physically.”

Luke Mawi of Ba said he was proud to see his son playing in the competition.

“I think Fiji FA was moving forward in terms of football development. It is good to see such programs have started which will surely help in the development of our children,” said Mawi

“It is great to see the passion these kids have for football and especially the girls playing alongside the boys which is something great to see.”

“It is a great start and I hope that this does not end here.”

The pilot project of McDonald’s Talent Identification League was officially launched last Saturday at Fiji FA Academy in Ba.

The league for kids U13 and U15 will be played for four weeks in three centers which include Ba, Rewa, and Labasa.

Next year Fiji FA will kick off U9, U11, U13, and U15 League around the country.
