League goes into break

The Digicel National football league goes into a break this weekend in all grades.

Fiji FA chief executive officer Mohammed Yusuf confirmed that all Fiji FA competitions have been given break this weekend for Easter celebrations.

“The Digicel Premier League, Digicel Women’s Super League, Digicel U19 League, Digicel U16 Boys and Girls Youth League, Digicel Women’s Senior League and Digicel Senior League will all resume after next weekend, “said Yusuf.

“There will be religious tournaments around the country and some players will be celebrating Ester break so we have decided to give a break this weekend.

“Most district players will feature in their religious district teams as well and Fiji FA fully supports them”

Yusuf said the Digicel National League in all grades have been successful until now.

“We have seen a lot of improvement in all the grades of competition as all the teams are coming out well prepared for their respective competitions,” said Yusuf

Yusuf said the Digicel Premier League has been very competitive this season.

“We have witnessed four rounds of competitions in the DPL which has proved to be very competitive, “said Yusuf

“The Digicel Premier League is getting more exciting and thrilling as we have seen in the past four round as only Labasa has only kept its unbeaten record while all other teams have been defeated.”

“There will be more nail-biting and stimulating matches as we go on with the competition and the fans will surely enjoy watching the fixtures, “said Yusuf

Meanwhile Labasa registered its first win last weekend beating Moshins Insulation Nadroga 1-0 at home and Defending Digicel Premier League champions Suva has suffered their first loss of the new season going down 0-1 against Esy Kool Nadi side at Prince Charles Park in Nadi.

Viti Flow Water Lautoka side created an upset beating Online IT Solutions Ba side 2-1 while Rewa won 1-0 against Navua.
