Lautoka outsmarts Rewa

The Viti Water Flow Lautoka FC side outclassed Rewa 3-0 to further extend its lead in the Digicel Premier League points table.

An own goal by defender Peniame Drova gave the first goal to the blues in the 43rd minute.

A  powerful right flank drive from Malakai Rakula saw Drova in his desperation, head the ball into his own goalmouth.

Striker Sairusi Nalaubu doubled Lautoka’s lead early in the second half through a clinical finish and replacement striker Wilson Doedoke wrapped up the victory from a beautiful volley from outside the box.

Lautoka sits in top place with 19 points while Rewa after two consecutive defeats remains with 12 points.

Lautoka coach Imdad Ali said they came here to win.

“Our aim was to get the three points from this game and I am proud of my boys, “said Ali

“I had national reps in the team and I expected them to perform.”

Rewa hosts Labasa on Sunday at 3pm at ANZ Stadium in Suva while Lautoka will face Nadi at Churchill Park in Lautoka at 3pm as well.
