Coming from behind against the New Zealand champions is a significant achievement for the Babasiga Lionesses.
Speaking to Fiji FA Media from Honiara coach Roneel Ram rightfully expresses his pride and joy over this ground-breaking result.
“Being the first women’s team from Fiji to earn a point against a New Zealand team is a significant milestone, and the players deserve commendation for their impressive performance and dedication,” said Ram.
Coach Ram rightly emphasizes the credit going to the players, acknowledging them as the true heroines who showcased hard work, dedication, and belief in their abilities and the team’s strategy.
“It’s evident that the team’s achievement is resonating not only within the squad but also with the coaching staff and supporters.
Looking ahead to the next challenge against Tonga’s Veitongo FC, Coach Ram acknowledges the toughness of the upcoming match.
“However, the team remains focused and determined to give their best effort. Addressing issues like niggling injuries and adapting to weather conditions demonstrates the strategic approach and commitment to maintaining peak performance,” added Ram.
The Labasa school teacher assured the team was ready to face Veitongo FC with determination and confidence.
