The Digicel Labasa Women FC is all set to feature in the inaugural OFC Women’s Champions League in Papua New Guinea.
Head coach Arthur Simmons said the spirit in camp was high.
“The players have settled well in the camp and are looking forward to the opening match on Thursday, “said Simmons.
“The girls are very excited, their morale is very high but I’m telling them look, let’s go in as the dark horse of the tournament. Be confident but don’t be over-confident.”
He adds they are history makers being the first women’s team from Fiji to play at the competition.
“Just like any other team, we are out here to put on our best performance, and I am confident that we will do our best.
“We are excited, never 100 percent fully prepared but we are pleased to be here and ready to compete, “said Simmons
Labasa Women FC kick off their campaign against Samoan side Kiwi FC in the opening match of the tournament at 2 pm.
