The 4R Electrical Labasa football side was awarded the Fair Play Team of the 2022 Digicel Fiji FACT last Sunday at Lawaqa Park in Sigatoka.
The side went down 0-2 over Ram’s Cleaning Services/All Freights Logistics Suva side in the final.
Association president Rayaz Khan said he was proud of his team’s performance.
“I am not disappointed with the loss but I am proud the boys did their best against a strong Suva side,”
“Hats off to all the players and officials,”
“The boys proved all critics wrong and showed their class in the semi-final after coming from behind to beat Ba 4-3,”
“Everybody counted us out. The boys gave out everything in the game but Suva had all experienced players so we are taking all positive from the tournament,” said Khan
Khan thanked all the fans that came out in numbers to support the team in the final.
“I know our fans were not disappointed as well despite the loss against Suva,”
“Without the support of the noisy fans, we would have not reached the final, and I heartily all the fans who came out and encouraged the boys with their cheers. “
He thanked Digicel national football coach Flemming Serristlev for assisting the team before the tournament.
