The victorious Labasa football players will share the $25,000 prize-money won at the 2020 Courts Inter-District Championship at the ANZ Stadium in Suva last Sunday.
Association president Rayaz Khan said they are yet to make the decision for the celebration but surely we would be sharing the prizemoney with the players.
“We have decided to share the prize-money among our players and we hope more will pour in from our sponsors and our supporters,”
Khan said business houses and fans have been very supportive and we know they would come up with more support.
“We had overwhelming support from the business community so far and hope more assistance will come in.”
Khan said the win had brought smiles to the faces of their fans.
“The fans who came out in numbers to support us were full of joy as for the first time Labasa has made a back-to-back title defense and we the boys made them proud.”
The Suva businessman said they are grateful to their sponsors SSS Buildings & Maintenance (NZ) for their support.
“We thank each and every one for their support but without our major sponsors SSS Buildings (NZ) we would have not been successful and I heartily thank them for their timely boost for the players,”
He also dedicated the win to his mother.
“I would like to dedicate this to my late mother who passed away last year and to my family and all the Labasa fans, “said Khan
