Labasa banks on own players

The Labasa football side will bank on its own players during the 2019 Pacific Cup tournament in Auckland, New Zealand.

Association president Rayaz Confirmed that they had not signed in any guest player for the tournament.

“We have not signed any guest players like other teams because we have confident in our players as they showed their commitment and dedication to the district this year, “said Khan

Rayaz said they had prepared well for the tournament.

“We had our good preparation and as the boys are eager to end the year with another title in our bag,”

“The boys are aware that the Pacific Cup is a different tournament as all the teams will come well prepared especially against us knowing that we have won INKK Mobile BOG and Courts IDC this year, “said Khan

He confirmed that Courts IDC hero would not be part of the team.

“Our Courts IDC hero Dennis Ifuaoa will not be part of the team because of his personal commitments in Solomon Islands,”

“We have a good squad and we aim to end our year on a high note, “said Khan

The team leaves our shores today and plays its first match against Northshore All Stars on Wednesday 27th November at 8.15 pm while on Day Two the Babasiqa Lions will take on Victoria All Stars at 9.30pm.

On Day three on Friday November 29, the Babasiqa Lions will face Nadi at 9.30pm and their final pool match will be against NZFFI All Stars on Saturday at 1.45pm.

Labasa squad: Akuila Mataisuva, Napolioni Qasevakatini, Siotama Kubu, Ilisoni Logavou. Kirtesh Ashneel Prasad, Melvin Mani, Asaeli Batikasa, Ashneel Raju, Sitiveni Rakai, Ilaisa Nayasi, Iliesa Lino, Ravinesh Karan Singh, Lekina Gonerau, Taniela Waqa and Antonio Tuivuna.
