Labasa, Ba book spots

Labasa and Ba have confirmed their spot in the Vodafone Senior Women’s final play offs to be played next month at Fiji FA Academy Ground in Vatuwaqa.

Fiji FA acting chief executive officer and competitions manager Amitesh Pal confirmed that Labasa and Ba have won their respective zonal competition.

“The two teams Labasa and Ba after finishing top in the zonal competition will await the winner from southern zone which will be decided this weekend, said Pal.

“The three teams will play round robin matches and the team with highest aggregated points will win the tournament,” said Pal.

Pal said for the first time the women’s and U19 youth play-offs would be played together.

“We will have our Vodafone Senior Women’s and Vodafone U19 Boy’s Youth play off on the same weekend,”

 ‘The tournament will be played from 13-15 December,”

“On Friday December 13 at 2pm Labasa will play the winner from southern zone in the Vodafone Senior Women’s play-off while at 4pm Labasa U19 will face the winner of southern zone in the Vodafone U19 Youth play-offs,”

“The second day will see at 2pm Labasa women face Ba women while at 4pm Western Zone winner will play Labasa Youth U19 side while on the final day at 2pm Ba women’s will battle southern zone champions while at 4pm Western Zone winner and Southern Zone champions will battle, “said Pal.

Pal confirmed the competition would be fully funded by Fiji FA.

“The teams will be provided with accommodation, meals and transportation,”

The winner walks away with $1500 prize-money while the runner-up get $750 and third place winner gets $250.
