Defending champions SSS Building (NZ) Labasa have failed to win any major title this year but they are well prepared to defend their title at ANZ Stadium in Suva. They won three IDC titles at same venue in 1994, 2011 and 2016.The Babasiqa Lions will be out to defend their title under the guidance of 2019 winning coach Roneel Lal. They have retained most of the players from the wining team except Solomon Islander Dennis Ifunaoa who scored the winning goal last year.While the Babasiqa Lions are drawn in a tough pool with twenty four times champions Ba, Nadi and minnows Navua, they have a set of players that can easily click, win matches and see the team progress to the semi-finals from Group B.They had a slow start this year but they proved they will come out strong after beating 2020 Punjas BOG champions and current Vodafone Premier League ladder leaders Rewa 2-1 in their last outing.Experienced players like goalkeeper Akuila Mataisuva, Antonio Tuivuna, Taniela Waqa, Ilisoni Logavou,Vikrant Chandra, Iliasa Lino, Ilisoni Lolaivalu, Ashneel Raju, Siotame Kubu and Ratu Anare will bolster the Northerners campaign.Labasa has a good chance to progress to the semi-finals but it will depend on how the players and coaching panel execute their game plan, follow instructions and utilize their scoring opportunities on the field.Fitness, dedication, discipline, and commitment will be the key determining factors in the most prestigious tournament of the year for Labasa.Labasa has won the IDC title five times and finished as runners up 3 times.The Labasa side will open its title defense campaign against Navua on Tuesday October 6 at 2.30pm, takes on Nadi on Wednesday at 7 pm before facing traditional giants Ba in its final pool match on Thursday at 7pm.PixOutfit for SSS Building (NZ) Labasa side for the 2020 Courts IDC
