The $5.5 million Fiji Football Association Academy in Labasa is taking its shape and expected to be completed early next year.

Fiji FA chief executive officer Mohammed Yusuf confirmed about seventy percent of the work has been completed.

“Fiji FA president Rajesh Patel together with three vice presidents and I visited the northern division last weekend with an aim to see the progress of the academy,”

“I am happy to say that seventy percent of work has been completed,” said Yusuf.

Yusuf said the academy would be of international standard and would boost the development of players in the Northern Division.

“The academy will include a kitchen, office, playground, dormitories (accommodate 30 players), technical room, conference hall, changing room and space for 250-300 people for weddings, birthdays and private functions.”
