Fiji football team captain Roy Krishna has urged parents to support their kids in the development of football in the country.
Krishna made a special appearance during the Mom & Pop League program at Fiji FA Academy Ground in Vatuwaqa and said “it is good see lots of kids today.” (Saturday)
“They are very lucky to be part of this football program and hopefully the parents could support them and this thing can continue because we need the support of the parents and good to see all the kids are smiling and learning more about football, “said Krishna
Krishna said this was the right age for kids to develop their football skills.
“This is the right age for them to develop and hopefully they continue and develop in better football players in future,”
Former national and Rewa goalkeeper Simione Tamanisau acknowledged Fiji FA’s initiative in hosting such programs for kids under 14 years of age.
“This is a very good initiative by Fiji Football and we see the kids are enjoying and learning the basics of football,”
Tamanisau said the kids were lucky such programs have been organised for them.
“I only wish such development program was done during our time but nevertheless I am happy that our kids are having bright future in football with such grassroots development program, “said Tamanisau.
More than 50 children gathered at Fiji FA Academy Ground for the Mom & Pop League which was combined by Nasinu and Suva kids.
