‘Keep your discipline

The Vodafone Fiji U19 Women’s team received a farewell from the Fiji Football Association (Fiji FA) president Rajesh Patel before the team left for the OFC U19 Women’s Championship in Cook Islands.

While addressing the women’s team during the function at the Fiji FA Academy in Ba last Thursday, Patel reminded them about the importance on maintaining discipline.

“Be disciplined. Keep your focus on the game and let the ball speak for itself,” he said.

“At the end of the match, it is the goal that counts.”

Patel said Fiji FA has given everything and would continue as far as the development of women’s football is concerned.

“We have developed you through the system which also includes all the leagues and tournaments, and you are prepared to be there.

“We have given everything to you all to make sure that you and be successful in qualifying for the U20 World Cup from Oceania.

“The challenge on the field is now yours.”

He also thanked the parents for allowing their girls to be part of the team.

“The parents and family members, I would like to thank you all for the tremendous support you have given to Fiji FA and to the girls to succeed in the career for women’s football.

“I hope it does not support here.

“Please continue to show your support and we at Fiji FA will make sure that we do not leave any stones unturned for women’s football to succeed in the country.”
