A Week- Long Oceania Football Confederation Just Play Train the Trainers workshop started at Fiji FA Headquarters in Vatuwaqa yesterday.
Fiji FA Just Play manager Lavenia Yalovi said 30 participants around the Oceana region were talking part in the workshop.
“The participants are from Vanuatu, Solomon, PNG, Samoa, Tahiti, New Caledonia, Tonga and Fiji.”
Yalovi said the main objective of the workshop was to train the trainers for the Just Play programs for 2020.
“The training of trainers of the Just Play new curriculum set to roll out in 2020. Each country teams are accompanied by their Just Play Managers
“The new Programming design takes into account the lesson learnt, documented feedback received from stakeholders and the sustainable development agenda, which have supported the growth and adaptation of programming components, systems and structure to enhance the program delivery and outcomes for children and adolescents in the Pacific.”
“The new programming framework, which seeks to expand the programme’s social focus from 4 pillars to 8 separated pillars which will allow participants to more broadly explore a variety of key areas. The new expanded programme design will focus on the four original programming pillars of: Health and wellness (which will focus on reduction of risk factors associated with non-communicable diseases and Wellness – focusing on mental health), Safeguarding (formerly Child Protection), Gender Equality and Social Inclusion, and will expand to include new Pillars on Life skills, Sanitation and Hygiene and Emergency Preparedness,”
“Just Play Program continues to improve children’s lives in the Pacific through the support from financial partners such as: The Australian Government, New Zealand Government, Football Federation of Australia, UEFA Foundation for children, UNICEF and OFC,”
