The Digicel Fiji U20 women’s football team is set to face a significant challenge in their debut appearance at the FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup.
They will compete in Pool B against formidable opponents France, Canada, and Brazil. This tournament is a significant milestone for Fiji, highlighting the growth and development of women’s football in the country.
The official draw for the 11th edition of the FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup was held in Bogota, Colombia. The tournament, set to take place from 31 August to 22 September 2024, features 24 teams divided into six groups, expanding from the previous 16-team format.

- Group A: Colombia (hosts), Australia, Cameroon, Mexico
- Group B: France, Canada, Brazil, Fiji
- Group C: Spain (defending champions), USA, Paraguay, Morocco
- Group D: Germany, Venezuela, Nigeria, Korea Republic
- Group E: Japan, New Zealand, Ghana, Austria
- Group F: Korea DPR, Argentina, Costa Rica, Netherlands
Spain, the 2022 champions, will start their title defense in Group C alongside joint-record champions USA, Paraguay, and newcomers Morocco. The host nation, Colombia, is placed in Group A with Australia, Cameroon, and Mexico.
This tournament marks the third FIFA event hosted in Colombia, following the FIFA U-20 World Cup 2011 and the FIFA Futsal World Cup 2016. It is also the second time the FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup is organized in the CONMEBOL region, with Chile hosting the event in 2008.
