The Nasinu football newly signed midfield Jasnit Vikash proved to be hero for the giant-killers as he netted a brace in their 2-0 win over Ba at the Fiji FA Academy grounds last week.
Jash, as he is fondly known, made his debut for both Nasinu as well as the Premier division football in Fiji on Saturday.
The 26-year-old said first ones are always special and memorable.
“It was a pretty special moment for me getting the first two goals for my side.
“First ones are always special and especially if it’s against big guns like Ba.
“I felt content after the result knowing that our hard work had paid off as it was basically a team goal and I dedicate the goals to my hardworking team mates,” he said.
The Labasa-lad, who featured for Lami last season, said the reason for taking a transfer was to get a taste of the top division football in the country as well as to try and win tournaments for Nasinu.
“Joining Nasinu, I wanted to challenge myself on the next level after featuring for Lami in the senior category.
“Hence, joining Nasinu, the aim was to get a taste of real fiji soccer and win tournaments for Nasinu
“I adopted really quickly to the Nasinu pattern. The teammates treat me as one of my own and we respect each other. I think that’s one of the secrets to Nasinu’s success.
“For Tagi, he is an amazing coach, very knowledgeable and has the ability to study and judge style of plays. His guidance was immense since I joined Nasinu.”
As they prepare for their next match against Navua this Sunday, the HFC Bank Officer says it will be a game to watch.
“Both teams are desperately after the points and will do everything possible to win the game.
“I request fans to come in numbers and back the Nasinu team up and keep supporting us so that we continue to do wonders and bring back the lost glory to Nasinu.”
