IDC pool drawn

The 2020 Courts Inter-District Championship pools was drawn last Thursday at Courts Lelo Store in Nakasi.

Defending champions Labasa has been drawn in with Ba, Nadi and Navua in Group B while 2019 Runners-up Suva heads Group A with 2020 Punjas BOG winners Rewa, Lautoka and Nasinu.

In the Senior Division, Tailevu/Naitasiri, Rakiraki, Dreketi and Seaqaqa are in Group 1 while 2019 runners-up Nadroga is in Group 2 with Tavua Bua and Nadogo.

Fiji FA Rajesh Patel acknowledged Courts for their contribution in the development of football in Fiji.

“We are grateful to Courts for their support, “said Patel.

“This is a very exciting year for Fiji FA and as we all know this will 21 consecutive year for Courts sponsorship for IDC which is one of the largest sponsorship for Fiji FA events.

“Fiji Football Association is proud to be associated with Courts as a major and the oldest and most prestigious football event.

“Without sponsors this would have not been possible and everyone around the world is facing the same problem with pandemic and we are facing the same in this country but it doesn’t means when time gest tough we leave and forget them. Together we have decided that we will continue with the tournament and we are thankful to courts for continuing with it.”

Patel revealed that they had given concession to Courts in its sponsorship.

“Yes we all give concession, we have to leave to within this new norm this world is all about now, “said Patel

“We had to make sure football survives,”

He revealed despite the crisis the prizemoney remains same.

“From Fiji FA perspective we have made sure the prizemoney remains same and everything we give to the districts remain the same and that is something we will fork out from our coffers, “said Patel

“The winner in the Premier Division will get $25000 which is highest prizemoney in any tournament. The runner-up will get $6000 while losing semi-finalist will get $1000 each,”

“In the senior division the winner will get $7000 and the runner-up gets $2500 while the losing semi-finalists gets $500 each.”

Patel said together with that they also provide districts with travel grants, preparation grant.
