The Fiji Football Association received $120,000 of sponsorship from Courts for next month’s Inter District Championship (IDC) to be played at the HFC Bank Stadium in Suva.
This was revealed during the Pool Draws last Saturday at Courts Samabula Store in Suva.
Fiji FA president, Rajesh Patel said the sponsorship is the biggest from any individual sponsor for any tournament.
“This Courts IDC would not have been possible without the support and sponsorship from Courts and 23 years is a long time that they have sponsored this event,” he said.
“The IDC is one of the largest sporting events and the sponsorship deal of $120,000 is the largest sponsorship invested in any Fiji FA tournament.
“This is the largest individual sponsorship of any tournament that we have got. So we are looking forward to the tournament like everyone else.”
Patel confirmed that a total of $44,000 will be given out in prizemoney.
“It is not only prizemoney we give out to the districts but we also give them preparation grant, traveling, and accommodation,” said Patel
He confirmed the winner of the main competition receives $25,000 while the runner-up walks away with $6000.
In the Premier Division, the winner gets $6000 while the runner-up receives $2000 and in the senior division, the winner gets $3500 while the runner-up receives $1500.
