The Digicel National Football team striker and Fiji’s wonder-boy Roy Krishna has once again marked a historic chapter in the Hero Indian Super League books last week.

Krishna won the Golden Ball award for the 2020-21 edition of the Indian Super League which concluded in Goa on Sunday.

Despite ATK Mohun Bagan losing out 1-2 to Mumbai City in the grand final, the Siberia Labasa-native deservingly picked up the Golden Ball award which is presented to the best player of the season.

He ended the season being the joint-highest goal scorer with 14 goals and eight assists from 23 matches however, missed out the Golden Boot award by the slightest of margins once again.

The Digicel National Football head coach Flemming Serritslev said Roy is a fantastic player.

“Roy is a fantastic player and its so great to hear that he has been named the best player in the Indian Super League.

“It’s a huge achievement for him and Fiji Football as well.

“He is a role model who has shown to other fellow footballers what you can achieve if you have the talent and use it in the best possible way.”
