Guest of honour

Five-year-old Mohammed Mosheem of Lautoka was the guest of honour at the semifinals  of the 2020 Punjas Battle of the Giants at Churchill Park today.

Mosheem led out the teams and match officials of the two semifinals, carrying the official match ball to the center spot.

Mosheem won hearts of the footballing community last weekend. He has survived a house fire at just 18 months old, the same fire in which he lost his mother, and bears the scars of that tragedy all over his body.

Mosheem bravely participated at the Fiji Football Association’s kids programme, catching the eyes of football officials and coaches with his enthusiasm, sheer grit and determination. The budding footballer was declared Champion of the Day and made a Fiji Football Young Ambassador with free lifetime entry to all matches sanctioned by the national body.

He was also awarded the Champion of the Day certificate by Fiji FA president Rajesh Patel.
