The much awaited football season officially resumed on a big note when Ba hosted Navua in the Vodafone Premier League (VPL) clash at the Fiji FA Academy grounds.
After a lapse of almost four months, the football fans were welcomed with a thrilling match which saw a total of eight exciting goals.
The Men in Black overcame Navua 5-3 with Samuela Drudru getting the opener for Ba before Abbu Zahid and Saula Waqa got a brace each.
Lanky striker Apisai Smith, who was introduced in the second half, returned to domestic football getting two goals to his name while captain Vineet Chand scored first for Navua via penalty.
The VPL continues this week with Lautoka hosting Ba tonight at Churchill Park at 6pm. On Saturday, Nadi travels to the North to face Labasa at Subrail Park at 2pm while Ba face giant-killers Nasinu at Fiji FA Academy grounds in Ba at 3pm. On Sunday, Suva hosts Rewa while Navua takes on Lautoka with both matches kicking off at 3pm.
