The Digicel U16 Girls Youth League kicks off this weekend in the western and southern zone.
Fiji FA competitions manager Amitesh Pal says the under 16 girl’s youth league involves 18 teams in three divisions.
“The southern zone consists of Rewa, Suva, Nasinu, Navua, Tailevu Naitasiri, Lami and Northland Tailevu while western zone is made up of Ba, Nadi, Lautoka Tavua, Nadroga and Rakiraki. The northern zone has Labasa, Savusavu, Dreketi, Seaqaqa, Nadogo and Bua.”
Pal said the competition would be played for ten weeks.
“The teams will play each other within their zones on a home and away basis for initial ten weeks of the competition, “said Pal
“The teams finishing on top in their respective zones will qualify for the final play-off which will be played on single round robin basis,”
Pal said the winner of the final play-off will be declared as the Digicel U16 Girls Youth League champions.
“This is a fully funded competition by Fiji FA and the teams are also provided with equipment for preparation and participation in the competition,” said Pal
