Futsal Corner

By Mira Sahib

Fiji FA futsal development officer

Bula Vinaka and Greetings to you all

As we battle through the Covid-19 pandemic  that the world is facing right now, Futsal activities has come to a pause similar to other Football activities.

I urge players to keep the training on their own doing whatever they could do to keep in shape and be ready for the season ahead of them. Players should practice ball mastery and improve the small aspects of the game which they do not get time to practice during in-season. This is the time where players can reflect on their own individual mission and vision and plan how they can achieve that for the betterment of their playing career and betterment of the team as a whole.

Also, I urge players and the Futsal family to be safe and take full care of themselves and their families and help to stop the spread of the COVID-19 virus. We can help by following the instructions given by the Health Ministry and WHO as we do not really know when the global pandemic will come to an end. We as Futsal lovers in this country can do our part to educate and influence our communities on proper hygiene practices to eliminate the global pandemic.

Fiji FA Futsal Department welcomes the inclusion of William Sikuri in the Technical Department as a Development Officer who was a former Fiji Futsal Rep. His creativity and skills on the pitch during his playing days will be very useful when we go out and teach the game to the future stars of Fiji Football.

We hope that everyone will be safe and washing their hands regularly for 20seconds, keeping social distance most importantly not going out unnecessarily of their homes.

Together we all can fight.

Vinaka Vakalevu.
