Free entry for fans

There will be free entry for football fans during the Digicel Women’s Inter District Championship which kicks off this weekend at Ratu Cakobau Park in Nausori.

Fiji FA competitions manager Amitesh Pal says fans can watch the women footballers in action free of charge.

“Eight top teams will feature in the group stages of the tournament in Nausori this weekend and the semi-finals and final will be played in Nadi,” said Pal

“Four exciting matches will be played in a day and fans can come out and enjoy the drills and thrills of the women’s football,”

Host Rewa will start its campaign against defending champions Labasa Friday.

The match is expected to be the feature match of Day One of the tournament which kicks off at 3.30 pm.

In other matches on Friday, Tailevu Naitasiri will kick start the championship against newly promoted Nadi at 9.30 am followed by Nadroga taking on Navua at 11.30 am and Ba will meet Suva at 1.30 pm.

On Saturday, Labasa will face off against Nadroga at 9.30 am while Ba takes on Tailevu Naitasiri at 11.3o am and Rewa plays Navua at 1.30 pm before Suva meets Nadi at 3.30 pm.

On Sunday, Suva will play Tailevu Naitasiri at 9.30 am, Rewa meets Nadroga at 11.30 am while Labasa takes on Navua at 1.30 pm and Ba faces Nadi at 3.30 pm.
