The Fiji National Under-19 football team has been finalised ahead of their upcoming international fixture against the Australian Joeys (U-19).
The squad will march in and assemble for final camp training on Tuesday, 6 January 2026, at the Fiji Football Association Academy in Suva, marking the beginning of the team’s final phase of preparation.
The match against the Australian Joeys will be played on Saturday, 17 January 2026, at Churchill Park in Lautoka, and forms a key part of Fiji’s ongoing youth development pathway at the international level.
Head Coach Dhirend Chand said the fixture will provide an important benchmark for the young squad as they transition into collective competition.
“This match against the Australian Joeys is an important test for our players,” said Chand. “We have completed a period of individual preparation, and this fixture will allow us to assess how well the players apply their training in a competitive match environment.”
Chand added that the final camp and international fixture are vital in evaluating both individual performances and team cohesion.
“It is an opportunity to see how the players respond tactically, physically, and mentally at the international level. The focus is on discipline, teamwork, and building confidence as a group,” he said.
The squad has been in structured preparation ahead of the fixture, with players previously following personalised training programmes before assembling for final team-based sessions at the Fiji FA Academy.
