The Ultimate Fiji Soccer Cup made its way to the Fiji Football Academy in Ba on Tuesday with nine matches held at the venue.
Some of the standout matches included a cracking contest the boys junior division with Ba and IFG New South Wales playing out a five-goal thriller. The Australians edged the match 3-2 to secure their first win of the competition.
Fiji North and Fiji West also faced each other in the youth division with the home nation match up finishing 1-1.
Tournament director Bruce Tilt attended the matches in Ba and said visiting the Academy was always a memorable occasion.
“It is always special to have games taking place at the Fiji Football Academy,” Tilt said.
“The management at the facility have obviously been working hard on the condition of the fields with the players getting to enjoy playing on a smooth surface.
“I was also impressed by the newly-developed stand at Govind Park and I hope we have the opportunity to utilise the venue in next year’s tournament.”
The other seven games on Tuesday were at Prince Charles Park in Nadi.
Action in the Ultimate Fiji Soccer Cup will return to Ba and Nadi on Wednesday. The games in Nadi will be held at the Sangam School.
