Fiji Football Association has suspended seven Seaqaqa Football Association executives for alleged misuse of funds and are to appear before the Fiji FA Ethics Committee.
Fiji FA chief executive Mohammed Yusuf met the members of Seaqaqa Football Association last Friday and said Fiji FA had zero tolerance policy on mismanagement and misuse of funds.
“There was an independent investigating committee who were given the task to interview the officials and their report came to Fiji FA board last Saturday and it came out that the five executive members somehow facilitated, assisted and cooperated in alleged false claim for the fund for their futsal team, “said Yusuf
Yusuf said none of them are found guilty yet.
“The matter is now referred to Fiji FA Ethics Committee and the charges will be laid and they will have opportunity to all to have their right to defend their allegations,” said Yusuf
“Those seven people will be deemed to have breached will stood down and will not be able to take active part in the affairs of Seaqaqa FA but they do not lose their positions,”
“The investigation committee also recommended the former president Vinod Khanna to be brought back in as capacity of acting president and Lakhan Kumar the surviving member of that group to be retained as senior vice president,”
The Fiji FA Ethics Committee which is led by lawyer Shalend Krishna, Mark Anthony and Shalendra Nadan will sit in November to hear the case of seven officials.
