Fiji FA Set to Begin $55M Lomolomo Academy Development

The Fiji Football Association (Fiji FA) is taking a bold step toward revolutionizing football in the region with its $55 million Lomolomo Academy project.

The ambitious development’s 18-acre property has officially been transferred to the Fiji FA, and construction is set to commence by the end of the year.

Speaking about the project during the Extra Supermarket Fiji FA Awards on Sunday, Fiji FA President Rajesh Patel described the initiative as a game-changer for football in Fiji and Oceania.

“This is something bold. People might say it’s ambitious, but we have proven we can deliver. The Labasa Academy, which cost $6.5 million, is already operational, and we are investing an additional $2 million for another pitch there.

The Lomolomo Academy is the next step in providing world-class opportunities for our players,” said Patel.

‘’The Lomolomo Academy will feature a FIFA Technical Academy for Oceania, a modern stadium, accommodation facilities, and multiple football pitches. The state-of-the-art infrastructure is expected to elevate the standard of football, not just in Fiji but across the Pacific region.

“This academy will open doors for footballers across Fiji, offering pathways to achieve their dreams and reach new heights.

‘’It’s a testament to our commitment to nurturing local talent and building the future of football in our country. “Patel added.

The project builds on the success of the Labasa Academy, setting a benchmark for quality and impact. With the inclusion of international-standard facilities, Fiji FA aims to create a center of excellence that will attract players, coaches, and teams from around Oceania.

The Lomolomo Academy is poised to transform Fiji into a football powerhouse, providing a platform for young players to shine and strengthening the country’s position on the global football map.

The groundbreaking project represents a bright future for the sport, one fueled by innovation, dedication, and a vision to uplift football in Fiji and beyond.
