The Digicel National Club Championship dates have been confirmed.
Fiji FA Competitions manager Amitesh Pal confirmed that seven districts have nominated their champions clubs.
“We have received nominations from Tailevu Naitasiri, Rewa, Nasinu, and Suva from the southern zone while Nadi, Lautoka, and Nadroga from the western zone,” said Pal
“The final playoff will be played with six teams next year with the three western teams already qualified so we will have the southern playoff this weekend to have the best three teams into the finals.”
“The Southern Zone playoff will feature Kasavu FC of Rewa, Mega FC of Tailevu Naitasiri, Central Meads FC of Suva, and Shamrock FC of Nasinu.
‘The four teams will be playing a round-robin format this Friday at Uprising Sports Center and the top three teams will feature in the finals at Lawaqa Park in Sigatoka from 19 – 22 January 2023.
Meanwhile, Tailevu Naitasiri’s Mega FC and Nasinu’s Shamrock FC will kick start the 2022 Digicel National Club Championship southern zone play-off this Friday at Uprising Sports Center in Pacific Harbour.
The match will kick start at 5 pm.
In other matches on Friday at 7 pm, defending champions Rewa’s Kasavu Sports will take on Suva’s Central Meads FC.
On Saturday at 2 pm Shamrock FC will face Kasavu FC while at 4 pm Mega FC will take on Central Meads FC.
On Sunday at 3 pm, Kasavu FC will battle Mega FC while Central Meads and Shamrock FC will wrap up the playoff at 5 pm.
The top three teams after playing a round-robin competition will advance to the national play-offs which will be held at Lawaqa Park in Sigatoka from 9 – 22 January 2023.
