Fiji FA appoints development officers

Former Rewa youth coach Raju Goundar has joined Fiji Football Association as development officer south.

“Football has been my passion and I am happy to join Fiji FA to give back my knowledge to the young generation, “said Goundar.

Goundar said he had been part of Rewa Football for past nineteen years in the developing of players.

“I have been doing the development program in Rewa FA for the past nineteen years and I am proud to join Fiji FA as a development officer and will be doing the same in other districts.

The former Rewa rep has achieved a number of successes around development and growth in football as Rewa U19 team was unbeaten for past nine years while he was the assistant coach.

Goundar’s key responsibility at Fiji FA will be to develop football at grassroots level.

He nurtured players such as Iosefo Verevou, Setareki Hughes, Ratu Tevita Warainivalu, Junior Sela and many more.

Fiji FA chief executive officer Mohammed Yusuf said:  “Goundar is a great addition to the Fiji FA technical team, he brings with him great experience from his time with the Westmorland FA and has great drive and ambition to support our ongoing development within grassroots football.”

Meanwhile former Rewa, Suva, Nasinu and national rep William Sikuru has also joined Fiji FA as development officer.
