FIFA President Gianni Infantino will officially open the new Fiji FA Fitness Center on his first visit to Fiji tomorrow (Saturday, August 05) says Fiji FA president Rajesh Patel.
Patel said the Fitness Center is funded by FIFA and was a great opportunity to be officially opened by the man himself Gianni Infantino.
“We have decided to name the newly constructed Fitness Center at our headquarters in Vatuwaqa under the footballing legend, the great Pele.
“It is named “King Pele’’ Fitness Center to honor the greatest footballer of his time,” Patel said.
Patel said the late Brazilian star’s legacy will live on forever and by naming the fitness center after him, they are paying tribute to his achievement in the sports.
“This will also inspire Fijians and other Pacific Islanders that will be using the facilities here in Vatuwaqa,” said Patel.
The King Pele Fitness Center is fully funded by FIFA and will also be accessible to the public when not in use by the national teams.
The King Pele Fitness Centre, which FIFA funded for around 700 thousand dollars, is equipped with the latest technology. It has a shower room, office, and physiotherapy clinic room.
Infantino will also officially open the refurbished Futsal Court in Vatuwaqa.
