Eight teams for Fiji FACT

The top eight teams on the Digicel Fiji Premier League points table ladder at the end of round seven will qualify for the Digicel Fiji FACT in June.

Fiji FA chief executive officer Mohammed Yusuf says they have advised the districts that on 30th April we will finish off round seven and that will be the cut-off point for Digicel Fiji FACT.

“Only the top eight teams from the DPL standings will move to the Digicel Fiji FACT and the teams will now have to work hard to ensure they are in the top eight,” said Yusuf

Yusuf says the Digicel Fiji Premier League this weekend will be exciting.

“From this weekend in round five of the competition, it’s going to be important for some districts to avoid being out of the first major tournament in Fiji FA calendar,”

A doubleheader fixture is set to be played at Uprising Sports Center in Pacific Harbour in which at 1 pm Tailevu Naitasiri will host Labasa while at 3 pm Navua will face Suva FC.

Nadi FC will host Ba FC at Prince Charles Park in Nadi while Lautoka will face Tavua at Churchill Park and Rewa will battle Nadroga at Lawaqa Park in Sigatoka. All the matches will kick off at 3 pm and on Sunday.

Meanwhile, Lautoka FC leads the DPL point table ladder with seven points. The Roneel Kumar-coached side has earned seven points from two wins and a draw together with Rewa but is on top with a better goal difference.
