Eight teams are set for the Fiji FA Beach Soccer tournament to be played this weekend at Fiji Sports Councils Beach Volleyball facilities in Laucala Bay, Suva

Fiji FA competitions manager Amitesh Pal says they were trying to revive and grow beach soccer in the country.

“Our aim is to revive and grow beach soccer in the country as we have done for futsal.

“We have received lots of support from districts in the growth of futsal and we are optimistic that same we will be done for beach soccer,” said Pal

Pal said the tournament was to give opportunities to our players to get interest in Beach Soccer.

“This is an open tournament and anyone can play in any team upon their registration,” said Pal

“Our southern districts have shown their interest in putting up a team and I am sure most of their district reps will be featuring in this tournament,” said Pal

Pal said they would be introducing Beach Soccer tournament around the country.

“Like other games we also want to see Beach Soccer League to develop our players for national team,” said Pal
