A three-day Easy Coach App Workshop, held last weekend at the Fiji Football Association (Fiji FA) headquarters in Vatuwaqa, in partnership with the Israel Football Association and UEFA, has been described as a groundbreaking step forward for the future of football in Fiji.
The workshop brought together representatives from Fiji FA’s technical department in Labasa, Ba, and Suva, along with the Just Play team, who were introduced to the innovative Easy Coach platform by Israeli experts Ronen and Yuval.
Fiji FA Head of Talent Identification and National U16 Boys Head Coach Sunil Kumar praised the program and emphasized how the Easy Coach App is expected to transform football operations in Fiji.
“This Easy Coach App workshop was extremely beneficial for the future of Fijian football,” Kumar said. “With this app, we’ll be able to register all players, track their progress, and manage data far more effectively. Currently, all operations are managed manually using Excel spreadsheets; however, this system will centralize all data on a single platform accessible to the appropriate coaches and staff.”
Kumar highlighted that the app encompasses all aspects of football management, including player registration, high-performance tracking, medical history, video analysis, and session planning.
“It will make our work easier, reduce paperwork, and help us store data long-term so we can look back and reflect on progress,” he explained. “It also allows us to track the work of development officers, youth coaches, and academy staff, while providing drills and training sessions that will directly support coaches on the ground.”
Kumar credited the Fiji FA leadership with bringing the initiative to life.
“This is one of the best decisions for the Fiji FA under the visionary leadership of President Mr. Rajesh Patel, the CEO, and the entire board. Collaborating with the Easy Coach App is something we’ve been looking forward to for a long time.”
Participants described the workshop as enlightening and a major step toward modernizing Fiji’s football structures, ensuring that both players and coaches benefit from world-class digital tools.
