Drug test for schools championship

Fiji Football Association will conduct random drug test during the Vodafone Secondary Schools Championship which kicks off tomorrow in Ba.

Fiji FA chief executive officer Mohammed Yusuf said this would be the first time they would do test in the secondary school football.

“This will be the first time we will do the drug test in the secondary schools competition for U18 grade because we want to make the sport drug free, “said Yusuf.

Yusuf said this would also create awareness among the students.

“We are trying create awareness within the students to say No to Drugs,” said Yusuf.

The Vodafone Fiji Secondary Schools IDC will be played from tomorrow to Sunday at five venues in Ba.

Forty teams will participate in the five days of tournament.
