DPL set to kick-off

The Digicel Premier League 2021 is set to resume with three exciting matches on October 24.
Fiji FA competitions manager Amitesh Pal confirmed the competition will resume as planned.


“We have given three weeks’ time to all the teams to prepare and we have also conducted educational sessions them in regards to our return to play awareness and preparedness protocols,” said Pal.


Pal said only issue was the quarantine restrictions still in place for Vanua Levu travels.


“We will have to reschedule all Labasa games due to the quarantine restrictions.
“There will be only three matches played next Sunday,” said Pal.


Navua FC will host Moshin’s Insulation Nadroga FC at the Uprising Sports Center, Rewa will travel to Prince Charles Park to face Esy Kool Nadi FC while Unique Rubber Stamp Suva FC will battle Online I.T Solutions Ba FC at the ANZ Stadium. All matches will kick off at 3pm.


Meanwhile, Viti Water Flow Lautoka FC is currently leading the DPL points table with 13 points, two points ahead of the Delta Tigers who is second with 11 points while Labasa is on third place with ten points. Nadi is on fourth place with nine points, Ba on fifth place with seven points, Suva on sixth place also with seven points, Navua on seventh place and Nadroga is at the bottom of the points table.
