DPL race takes a twist

The Digicel Premier League has taken a turnaround in the standings after the end of round seven on the weekend.

An exciting round of matches was played with some unexpected results at Prince Charles Park and Uprising Sports Center at Deuba.

Rewa had led the points table till round six but their stalemate against Navua on Sunday Pacific Harbour dropped them to the second spot with 15 points.

Navua with seven points in bag sits on the seventh place on the DPL standings.

Defending champions Sharma’s Investment (USA) Suva FC cemented its place in the first place after a 2-0 win over All in One Builders Nadi side on Sunday at Prince Charles Park in Nadi.

Suva has 17 points while Nadi with six points sits on eighth place.

Nadroga has moved up to fourth place after a 2-1 win over NZOTC Nasinu while Nasinu goes down to the seventh place with seven points.

Labasa registered its first win in the DPL beating Ba 5-2 at Prince Charles Park in Nadi. The Babasiqa Lions has moved up to ninth place from the bottom of the table with five points.

Lautoka which had played only two matches is on the bottom of the table with three points.

Sixth placed Tailevu Naitasiri was on bye last weekend.

In round eight, this weekend Rewa will host Nadroga behind closed doors at Ratu Cakobau Park at 3pm this Saturday.

In other match on Saturday Ba will face Tailevu Naitasiri at Uprising Sports Center at 3pm.

On Sunday at Prince Charles Park in Nadi at 2 pm All in One Builders Nadi FC will host NZ Fan Club Labasa side at 2 pm.

A doubleheader will be played at Uprising Sports Center in which at 2 pm NZOTC Nasinu will host Lautoka and Navua will battle Suva at 4 pm.
