DIGICEL FIJI PREMIER LEAGUE ROUND TWO

The Nadi football side has taken the lead on the Digicel Fiji Premier League points table ladder after two rounds of the competition.

The Kamal Swamy-coached side registered its second consecutive win in the Digicel Fiji Premier League Nadi outclassing Nasinu FC 4-2 on Sunday.

The Jetsetters had a 1-0 advantage at the halftime mark with a goal from William Valentine from the penalty spot in the 18th minute.

Nasinu managed to level the score in the 55th minute with a goal from Ratu Apenisa Anare.

Youngster Nikesh Singh who came off from the bench at the start of the second half extended Nadi’s lead in the 68th minute while Siotama Kubu made it 3-1 in the 75th minute.

Two minutes later Dan Keana netted for Nasinu and Kubu scored his second goal just before the final whistle.

Nadi will face Navua in round three of the Digicel Fiji Premier League this weekend.

Nadroga FC 2-2 Labasa FC

Nadroga and Labasa’s match ended in a 2-2 draw at Lawaqa Park in Sigatoka.

Solomon Island import Brian Limoki scored the opener for the Stallions in the 18th minute while Lekima Gonerau got the equalizer for the Babasiga Lions in the 35th minute.

Christopher Wasassala brought Labasa back into the lead in the 45th minute while Willam Komasi got the equalizer in the 49th minute.

Both teams are on a point each in the DPL Points table ladder. Nadroga went down 1-2 against Navua in round one while Labasa played its first match of the season.

Nadroga will play Lautoka while Labasa will face Flick Suva FC in round three this weekend.

LAUTOKA FC 1-1 NAVUA FC

Navua FC came from behind to hold Lautoka FC to a 1-all draw at Churchill Park in Lautoka on Sunday.

The Blues led the match via a goal from Sairusi Nalaubu in the 32nd minute of play.

Navua was awarded a penalty in the 90th minute after Simione Damuni was chopped inside the penalty box by Sitiveni Cavuilagi and a penalty was awarded to the visitors.

Navua’s Solomon Island import Ali Mekawir got the equalizer from the penalty spot.

Both teams have four points after a win in round one.

Navua will face Nadi while Lautoka plays Nadroga this weekend.

BA FC 1-1 TAILEVU NAITASIRI FC

At Fiji FA Academy Ground Ba, Tailevu Naitasiri came from behind to hold Rooster Chicken Ba FC to a one-all draw.

Mohammed Raheem scored for the Men-in-Black in the 30th minute while Mosese Nabose got the equalizer in the 62nd minute.

In round three this weekend Ba will take on Nasinu FC while Tailevu Naitasiri FC will face neighbors Rewa FC.

SUVA FC 2-2 REWA FC

Merril Nand netted a brace as Flick Suva FC came from behind to hold arch-rivals Rewa FC to a 2-2 draw at the Uprising Sports Centre in Pacific Harbour on Sunday.

Epeli Valevou scored first for the Delta Tigers in the 15th minute while Nand netted the equalizer in the 63rd minute.

In the 69th minute, Iosefo Verevou brought Rewa into the lead but in the 90th minute, Nand leveled the score with a brilliant finish.

Flick Suva FC will take on Labasa FC while Rewa will play Tailevu Naitasiri in round three this weekend.
