The Digicel Fiji Premier League goes into a three-week break to allow clubs to focus and start their regional league competitions.
Fiji FA Chief Executive Officer Mohammed Yusuf said all districts needed to conduct their local league competition.
‘’This is aimed at fostering the growth and competitiveness of football within different regions.
“We made it mandatory for all clubs in our council meeting last month to conduct their local league competitions or face penalty, “said Yusuf.
Yusuf said after every four rounds in the DPL there will be a break for the districts to continue their local league competitions.
“We are giving districts ample opportunities to organize and complete their club rounds.
“The local league is compulsory, and each district must complete it, otherwise they will now lose points in the DPL. Four windows are given to them to hold it and in each window, if they don’t complete their club rounds, they will lose two points from their DPL tally.”
