The pool draws for the Dayal’s Sawmillers National Club Championship (NCC) 2025 final play-offs have been confirmed, signalling the conclusion of the 2025 football season.
Six top club teams from around the country have qualified for the national finals following last week’s zonal playoffs. The competition will be played from Thursday, December 11 to Sunday, December 14 at the Fiji FA Academy Ground in Vatuwaqa.
The pool composition is as follows:
Group A: 4R FC (Ba), Friends United FC (Nasinu), Combine Brothers FC (Suva)
Group B: Ray United FC (Lautoka), Combine Verata FC (Rewa), Northpole FC (Labasa)
Fiji Football Association Chief Executive Officer Mohammed Yusuf said the NCC would bring the curtain down on an exciting year of football, with strong representation from all major districts.
“We have come to the end of the 2025 football season with the finals playoff for the Dayal Sawmillers National Club Championship,” Yusuf said.
“Six top clubs from around the country have qualified through last week’s zonal playoffs, and we expect some very exciting matches from Thursday through Sunday. The pool winners will then battle it out in the grand final on Sunday at 1 p.m.”
“Some teams may be affected as a few players have now signed professional contracts with Bula FC and won’t feature in these final rounds, but this only shows the strength of our development pathway. The NCC is where grassroots players, many from villages, get exposure and a chance to be scouted for district and premier league football.”
Yusuf thanked Dayal’s Sawmillers Pte Ltd and Managing Director Mr Pranil Dayal, who is also the President of Ba FA, for their continued support.
“We intend to sign a three-year partnership with Dayal’s Sawmillers to ensure the sustainability of local club competitions and the continued growth of the NCC. This is the platform where grassroots players rise and contribute to the future of football in Fiji.”
The tournament will feature two matches each on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday, with the top team from each group advancing to the final on Sunday at 1 p.m.
The champions will receive $4,000, while the runner-up will take home $1,500, courtesy of Dayal’s Sawmillers Pte Ltd.
Yusuf noted that this year’s NCC would feature well-organised and competitive teams, including Northpole FC of Labasa, Ray United FC of Lautoka, Combine Verata FC of Rewa, Friends United FC of Nasinu, 4R FC of Ba, and Combine Brothers FC of Suva.
“There are no easy teams this year. All six have proven themselves at the zonal level, and we expect high-quality football throughout the weekend,” Yusuf added.
