Dayals Sawmillers Ba FC Poised for 18th BOG Title

Dayals Sawmillers Ba FC, the most decorated team in Battle of the Giants history, enter the 2025 edition of the Extra BOG tournament with renewed hunger to reclaim their throne. With seventeen titles already to their name, the “Men in Black” aim to make history once again by capturing their eighteenth crown.

After a difficult domestic season, Ba FC has undergone a strategic transformation under the leadership of Praneel Dayal. The rebuild has focused on strengthening all areas of the club, both on and off the pitch.

Head Coach Ronil Kumar has emphasized discipline, development, and determination in shaping a team that blends experienced and emerging talent. His goal is clear: to restore Ba’s competitive edge and play a brand of football that reflects the club’s proud identity.

A major boost to the team comes in the form of former Rewa goalkeeper Mohammed Alzaar Alam, whose reliability and sharp reflexes provide confidence at the back. In addition, two exciting Chilean imports, Lucas Abarca and Leandro Ruiz Varas, have joined the squad, adding international flair and attacking quality to Ba’s midfield and forward line.

The team’s tactical vision is overseen by Director of Football Rodeck Singh, a seasoned coach formerly with Rewa. His knowledge and leadership are expected to be pivotal in guiding the “Men in Black” through the challenges ahead.

Ba FC has been placed in what many are calling the “pool of death,” facing formidable opponents in host team Labasa FC, defending champions Lautoka FC, and a resurgent Nadroga FC.

Their tournament opener against Labasa on Friday, August 1 at 6:30 p.m. will set the tone for their campaign.

Ba FC’s campaign continues against Lautoka FC on Saturday at 3:00 p.m., followed by their final Group A fixture against Nadroga FC on Sunday at 12:00 p.m.

The “Men in Black” last tasted BOG glory in 2018, when they defeated Suva 2–0 in Lautoka. With a deep squad, experienced leadership, and a hunger for silverware, Ba FC is poised to make a serious run at the title once more.
