Cities battle end in a draw

The Lautoka FC came from behind to hold Digicel Premier League point table ladder leaders Suva FC 1-all in round 10 of the competition at Churchill Park in Lautoka on Sunday.

The high-flying Ram’s Cleaning Services sponsored Whites entered the match with the favorites tag and went ahead in the 33rd minute after Ni-Vanuatu attacker Azariah Soromon headed in a well-floated cross from left midfielder Mohammed Ramzan Khan.

Suva led 1-0 at the break but the Blues came out strongly in the second half and youngster Gulam Razool set up the equaliser in the 54th minute after making a good run on the right flank and sending in a low cross which was controlled well and slammed into the back of the net by national marksman Sairusi Nalaubu.

The Capital City boys remain unbeaten and on top of the DPL table with 24 points after 10 matches while Lautoka is fourth with 17 points.

Suva will face Ba this Sunday at 1.30pm at Ratu Cakobau Park in Nausori while Lautoka will play Navua on Sunday at 3pm at Uprising Sports Center in Pacific Harbour.
