Chelsea Beach Soccer Club was crowned the champions of Digicel Nasinu Regional Beach Soccer after beating Shamrock 2-0 in the final at FSC Beach Soccer pitch in Laucala, Suva on Sunday.
Laced with former Nasinu reps Joseph Mishra, Nitan Kumar, Asaeli Tuidau, Jagindar Singh, Jalindar Singh defeated Speedwing 4-1 in the semi-final while Shamrock won 3-0 against Nepani in the second semi-final.
Nasinu FA president Oneal Chand congratulated both teams for the gallant performance.
“Hats off to all the teams as we know there is only one winner and congratulations to Chelsea for showing their class in the final,”
Chand said the championship was a major success
“I would like to thank Fiji FA for giving us an opportunity to stage the competition and our players really enjoyed playing on the beach,”
“This is the first time we have organised a beach soccer competition it’s not the end now as we have decided to continue with the competition to groom more beach soccer players,’ said Chand
‘We hope the Championship will nurture players and help them grasp the skills of beach soccer,”
