The passion for football never stopped 10-year old Abraham Chand to play the sport he loves the most.
Chand is one of the hundreds of kids participating in the Mom & Pop League program hosted by Fiji Football Association at its Academy Ground in Vatuwaqa.
Speaking to Fiji FA Media, Chand said he was happy to join the program.
“I have been playing football with my friends on the road in Viria Road, Vatuwaqa and I am so happy to play in a good field because we do not have a proper pitch in the area, “said Chand.
Chand said he was playing football from the age of six.
“My dad is a passionate footballer, he played club level but he always inspired me to take up the sport,” said Chand
The class five student of Mahatma Gandhi Memorial Primary School dreams to become a professional player.
“My dream is to wear the Fiji jumper from the age group and I think the Mom & Pop League is the best pathway for me to show my talent and hope I am scouted by someone,” said Chand
“I love watching Ronaldo playing but I want to be like Roy Krishna and he is my best player,”
The ten-week Mom & Pop continues at ten venues around the country.
