The Digicel national football side will open its campaign against New Caledonia in the 2022 FIFA World Cup Qualifiers to be played in Qatar.
The fixtures for the Oceania qualifiers have been released by FIFA with matches starting on the 17th of March.
The Bula Boys’ first match is on the 18th before facing New Zealand on the 21st.
Their final pool match is against Papua New Guinea on the 24th of March.
The tournament will determine which nation will represent Oceania in the FIFA intercontinental play-off in June 2022, from which the winner earns a spot at the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022™ finals.
A standalone match between the two lowest-ranked OFC nations, Tonga and the Cook Islands, will be held on March 13 to determine who qualifies through to join Group A and contest the preliminary competition.
Group A, which will be made up of the Solomon Islands, Vanuatu, Tahiti and the qualifying match winner, will have its first Match Day on March 17.
Group B, containing New Zealand, New Caledonia, Fiji and Papua New Guinea, will have its first Match Day on March 18.
The semi-finals involving the two top nations from each group will be played on March 27 and the final on March 30.
The Fijian national team marches into the camp from next Monday in Ba.
Fiji FA plans to fly the team over to Melbourne by early next month for warm-up matches against some A-League teams.
