The Digicel Fiji Men’s National football team has ramped up preparations for the upcoming FIFA International “A” Friendlies Tri-Nations Series 2024, scheduled for next month.
Team manager Kartik Reddy confirmed that the squad has been in camp at the Fiji FA Academy in Ba since Sunday, with 24 players currently training and two more expected to join this week.
Reddy emphasized the inclusion of emerging talents, such as Digicel Fiji U19 Youth players Penisoni Tirau, Mohammed Ayman, and Sterling Vasconcellos, who are part of the extended squad alongside senior players.
Australian-based goalkeeper Jerome Narayan is already in camp, while New Zealand-based Samuela Kautoga is expected to join on Sunday, with captain Roy Krishna set to arrive on September 3.
The final 23-member squad will be announced on August 30th before the team heads to Suva.
Under head coach Rob Sherman, the team will face the Solomon Islands National team on September 2 at HFC Bank Stadium in Suva at 7 pm, followed by a match against the Hong Kong, China National team on Sunday, September 8, at Churchill Park in Lautoka.
