Blues prepare for giant killers in VPL opener

The Lautoka Football side is leaving no stones unturned as they prepare to face giantkillers Nasinu in its first match of the 2020 Vodafone Premier League at Churchill Park in Lautoka this Sunday.

According to the newly appointed head coach Anand Sami, Nasinu would definitely come out firing in the first game.

“Nasinu has been a really good team last season,” Sami said.

“I’m not underestimating any team because every other team is also preparing well to win and so do we.”

Despite losing few experienced players in this pre-season transfer window, Sami said he would be working with the available players to make them fit into his system of play.

“I know Lautoka has lost a few experienced players in this transfer window, but I will be working with the young players to make them fit into the system.

“We should be able to make a good team before our first match, there’s no two ways about it because I see most of the regular players are still there.”

He requested the fans to have patience and allow them some time to build the team together.

“I would like to ask the fans to give us a little bit of time to work with these team and definitely we will come out strong.”

The Lautoka versus Nasinu match is scheduled to kickoff at 3pm.
