The Digicel national under-17 team is gearing up its preparation for the OFC Under-17 Championship which will be played early next year in Fiji.

Head coach Sunil Kumar said they were preparing well for the championship.

“The boys have gelled well together as we have been in camp for the last few months and giving their best in training,” said Kumar

“The boys have sacrificed a lot and have taken the challenges as they were also doing their studies while in camp.

Kumar confirmed four overseas-based players have joined the squad.

“We have three players from New Zealand and one player from Australia and they have been doing well and adopted our style of playing and training,” Kumar said

“The morale in camp is high and the boys are looking forward to the championship next year.

He confirmed the team will take a break during the Christmas holidays.

“We will be giving break for the boys to spend their time out with their families and will march back into camp on December 28,”

“We will be shifting our camp from Ba Academy to Suva Academy as we will be playing here at HFC Bank Stadium,” said Kumar
